Harry started his furniture store in 1950 in Saline, Michigan. He wanted to provide his customers with quality furniture at prices well below competing discount stores and still offer a range of services expected only at specialty or department stores. He found the formula to successfully provide high level services including special ordering, fast delivery, layaway and immediate pick-up while keeping highly competitive prices.

In time, other discounters, furniture stores and department stores came and went, while Harry's continued to grow throughout Washtenaw and Lenawee county area. The company grew on the solid foundation of quality, price, and service.

Today, Harry's is one of Michigan's largest single furniture retailer and remains a family owned business and maintains the fine traditions begun by Harry.
